Breastplate- A piece of armor that covers the torso.
Brigandine- A garment, generally heavy cloth, canvas or leather, lined with small oblong steel plates riveted to the fabric.
Bulletproof Vest- Modern day decedent of the breast plate designed to stop bullets.
Coat of Plates- a segmented torso armor consisting of overlapping metal plates riveted inside a cloth or leather garment.
Cuirass- a single or multiple pieces of metal or other rigid material which covers the front of the torso.
Culet- a piece of plate armor consisting of small, horizontal lames that protect the small of the back or the buttock.
Faulds- pieces of plate armor worn below a breastplate to protect the waist and hips
Hauberk- A chain-mail shirt.
Jack of Plates- a type of armour made up of small iron plates sewn between layers of felt and canvas.
Plackart- It was a plate reinforcement that composed the bottom part of the front of a medieval breastplate.
Trauma Plate- a plate that is an insert to a ballistic vest to absorb impact and reduce the blunt trauma.
Arm
Besagues- Circular defenses designed to protect the armpit.
Bracer- A sheath or strap that protected the archers forearm from the bow string as well as to secure loose clothing.
Couter- A piece of armor attached to a vambrace to protect the elbow.
Manica- a type of iron or bronze arm guard, with curved and overlapping metal segments or plates, fastened to leather straps.
Pauldrons- Shoulder armor tend to be larger than spaulders covering the armpit, and sometimes parts of the back and chest.
Rerebrace- A piece of armor designed to protect the upper arms.
Spaulders- a single plate of steel or iron covering the shoulder with bands joined by straps of leather or rivets.
Vambrace- Forearm Guard.
Legs
Chausses- Armor for the legs, usually made from mail.
Codpiece- A piece of armor to protect the crotch.
Cuisses- A form of medieval armour worn to protect the thigh.
Greaves- Armor that protects the lower legs.
Poleyn- A piece of armor that covered the knee.
Sabaton- or solleret is part of an armor that covers the foot.
Tassets- A piece of plate armor that covered the thighs.
